Rick Rubin: Act like a child. Create with innocence.
"The goal is to share who we are. And how we see the world.”
Advice from music producer Rick Rubin:
1. As soon as you have an idea, take steps to make it happen. “If you have an idea you’re excited about and you don’t bring it to life, it’s not uncommon for the idea to find its voice through another maker.”
2. Act like a child. Create with innocence. “As artists, we seek to restore our childlike perception: a more innocent state of wonder and appreciation not tethered to utility or survival.”
3. You have to face the fear to obtain the outcome you want. “Ultimately, your desire to create must be greater than your fear of it.”
4. Show up as yourself, done is better than perfect. “The goal of art isn't to attain perfection. The goal is to share who we are. And how we see the world.”
